Raunio Sawmill also operates on the Finnish markets as a buyer of Biofuel and seller of its derived energy. We deliver the equivalent of 300 GWh as wood-based fuels annually.

From the start we have placed emphasis on quality and environmental factors in the procurement of forest-based energy. All our biofuels are produced in accordance with a certified procurement chain. We must also take into account the forest's biological balance. It is especially important for us that today's young forests become tomorrow's source of raw material.

Raunio Sawmill's forestry department purchases and harvests first- thinned forests for saw and pulp logs, with the resulting felling-waste and tree stumps used as raw material for bioenergy production.
